Unbelievable, isn’t it? Then again, he does seem to have been around forever. Live At Treorchy, the seminal album that brought our very own Working Class Hero to the masses, was recorded a mere 40 years ago.
Time flies and parts of Wales have since changed beyond all recognition. Yet Max Boyce has remained constant throughout and is part of Wales’ furniture.
His contribution to the fabric of our emerging country – for it is still very much emerging – is extremely significant and passing reference to Boyce as a “comedian” or “entertainer” does him an injustice.
